- This refuge includes several habitats: beaches, coastal lagoons, mangrove wetlands and forests. It also includes coral reefs, sea grass beds and is a refuge for four endangered species of plants and ten endangered animal species including the Caribbean West Indian manatee, the brown pelican and four species of turtles.
