From the beach side, the rock cliff looks like the bust of the Chief Cacique Mabodomaca. Legend has it that he jumped into the sea from the cliff to avoid capture by the Spaniards. The chief's medallion was lost & is still sought along the cliff.(expand)

This major historical site (from 1725) is the original location of Isabela. The site is dominated by the ruins of the church. Call City Hall to arrange a visit or take the trolley tour. Very impressive.(expand)
This is a large area (very popular in the spring and summer) that is webbed with dirt roads, coral and beaches. You will find a blow hole toward the east end and the Pozo Brujo at the base of the cliff.(expand)

Swimming and fishing beach. This area was originally a Spanish port due to its deep water close to shore. Known as an excellent boogie board beach. The point at the east side of the beach is Punta Sardina.(expand)
The portion of the beach west of Río Guajataca is in Isabela. This is the access to the Túnel de Guajataca at the west end of the beach. This is not a swimming beach due to strong currents.(expand)
