Puerto Rico Convention Center, JCD

After leaving Old San Juan and Puerta de Tierra you come upon Miramar (part of which has recently been declared a historic zone), the scene of some lovely centuries-old homes. Examples include the late Oscar-winning actor Jose Ferrer’s childhood home. Several fine restaurants are on its side streets as is one of the Island’s most recognized Catholic schools whose alumni include Benicio del Toro.

Miramar is also home to the new Convention Center and Convention Center District. The 580,000 square-foot Convention Center is the largest and most technologically advanced meeting facility of its kind in the Caribbean. For more information check the San Juan: Metro Information listings.
